Closing bell: MTNL, Zee Media, Suzlon, RTN India close in upper circuit; Shopper stop top Small cap gainer, Logistic companies fly!

The BSE SmallCap index even though managed to close in green; underperformed the frontline indices after recording gains of 99 points or 0.40 per cent when Sensex gained by 0.43 per cent or 226 points to close at 52,925.

Shopper stop was the top BSE SmallCap gainer; up by 15.43 per cent followed by Ajmera realty, Sandur Manganese ore and All Cargo Logistics which were all up by more than 12 per cent each on Friday. 

Logistics players such as GATI  and Aegis Logistics outperformed broader markets while IOB shined after soaring more than 7 per cent on friday. Emami Realty was locked in at upper circuit along with Zee Media, Bajaj Hindusthan, Rattan India, GTL infra, Suzlon, TTMLand RTN India.Take solutions crashed by more than 8 per cent while RCOM, Ballarpur Industries, Siti Networks and JP infratech were locked in lower circuits.

Laurus Lab, Navin Flourine, Nalco, Fortis, Aegis Logictics and Coromandel International put together contributed the most to the BSE SmallCap index gains.
