The newly contracted vessel is a 2014 Japanese-built bulk carrier with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of approximately 81,094. According to the company’s official statement, the vessel is expected to join the GE Shipping fleet by the first quarter of FY27.

The acquisition comes at a time when the company’s capacity utilisation is close to 100 per cent, prompting the need to expand its fleet. GE Shipping plans to finance the purchase entirely through internal accruals, reflecting a strong balance sheet and cash position without Reliance on external borrowing.
