US Waives Russia-Oil Sanctions Provisions for India

The US administration has waived key sanctions, restrictions and duties under the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026. The provisions included potential tariffs of up to 100 per cent on goods imported from major buyers of Russian oil and gas, including India.

The executive order allows the waivers to remain effective until further action is considered. Existing sanctions outside the scope of the order remain unaffected.

The decision temporarily reduces the threat of additional US tariffs linked to India's purchases of Russian energy.
