Editor Responds : Managing the portfolio tactically is definitely fruitful than the buy and hold strategy. However, as a retiree you should first understand what your risk appetite is. If your basic cash flows are taken care of and you are an aggressive investor, then tactically managing the portfolio makes more sense. Moreover, having a bucket strategy in place would help you manage your cash flows much better and avoid any near to medium-term shocks
