Make In India Boost: Ministry of Defence Signs Rs 449 Crore Contract For Indigenous GNSS Jammers For Indian Navy

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract worth Rs 449 crore with Accord Software and Systems Private Limited (ASSPL), Bengaluru, for the procurement of 20 Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System (ECGNSS) Jammers for the Indian Navy.

The contract was signed under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on June 10, 2026.

Advanced Electronic Warfare Capability For Indian Navy

According to the Ministry of Defence, the ECGNSS Jammers are designed to enhance the Indian Navy's operational capabilities in complex and multi-threat environments.

The systems are capable of degrading satellite signal acquisition and tracking performance of adversary GNSS receivers, while also providing signal spoofing and deceptive jamming capabilities. These features are expected to strengthen the survivability and operational effectiveness of naval platforms during critical missions.

Boost To Maritime Security

The induction of the advanced jamming systems is expected to improve the safety and security of Indian Navy vessels operating across diverse maritime theatres.

By disrupting hostile navigation and positioning systems, the equipment will provide an additional layer of protection against emerging electronic warfare threats and support secure naval operations.

Supports Aatmanirbhar Bharat Initiative

The Ministry stated that the contract carries a minimum 75 per cent indigenous content, reinforcing the Government's commitment towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Make in India initiative.

The order also represents a significant step towards the indigenisation of advanced defence technologies and reducing dependence on imported military equipment.

Strengthening Domestic Defence Manufacturing
