GEE Ltd Contributes To Triple Navy Commissioning

GEE Ltd informed exchanges that it served as the exclusive supplier of welding consumables for three indigenous Indian Navy warships — INS Dunagiri, INS Agray and INS Sanshodhak — which were commissioned on June 21, 2026, in Kolkata.

The commissioning ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and marked one of the rare occasions in recent years where three frontline naval platforms were inducted into service simultaneously.

The three warships were designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau and constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) with indigenous content exceeding 75 per cent, supporting the Government's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Exclusive Supplier For All Three Warships

According to the company, it was the sole supplier of welding consumables used in the construction of all three naval platforms. GEE stated that its products played a critical role in ensuring fabrication quality and structural integrity during the shipbuilding process.

The company added that its participation in these strategic defence projects strengthens its position in high-precision and high-reliability defence manufacturing applications, particularly within India's growing naval shipbuilding ecosystem.
