In the commodities market, crude oil prices remained largely stable after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington would not impose the previously proposed 20 per cent transit fee on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The July crude oil futures contract was quoted at USD 85.50 per barrel, up 0.77 per cent.

Meanwhile, precious metals traded lower, with gold futures declining 0.57 per cent and silver futures falling 0.43 per cent.
