L&T Bags Design-Build-Operate Order for 24x7 Water Management Project in South-East Guwahati

The project has been conceived to deliver a safe and uninterrupted water supply round the clock to households in South-East Guwahati, addressing one of the most pressing civic needs of the growing city. The order has been classified as significant, which as per L&T's internal classification, corresponds to a value in the range of Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore.

L&T will handle the design, supply, installation, Construction, testing and commissioning of a barge-mounted intake system, raw water rising main, water treatment plant, reservoirs, booster pumping station and a full distribution network reaching household service connections. On top of this, the company will also deploy a fully integrated SCADA system for real-time monitoring and performance management, along with operation and maintenance responsibilities for a period of five years, making it a long-term engagement that goes well beyond just building the infrastructure.

The order has been classified as significant, which, as per L&T's internal order classification framework, corresponds to a contract value in the range of Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore.

This order adds to L&T's growing footprint in India's northeast region, an area that has been seeing increased infrastructure investment in recent years.
