L&T Signs Ultra-Mega Gas Compression Project

L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) has signed a contract for undertaking a gas compression facilities project for a prestigious client in the Middle East. The contract follows a letter of award issued in FY26.

L&T has classified the project as an ultra-mega order. As per the company's order classification, an ultra-mega project has a value of more than Rs 15,000 crore. The company has not disclosed the exact contract value in the filing.

Project Includes Gas Compression Plants

The project involves engineering, procurement and Construction (EPC) of gas compression plants. The scope includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities.

The facilities will be developed for new onshore installations to process sour gas in accordance with applicable client standards, codes and project requirements.

Two 230 kV Substations to Be Executed

To meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants, L&T's Power Transmission & Distribution business will execute two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations.

The project therefore brings together L&T's hydrocarbon EPC capabilities with its Power Transmission & Distribution business for the associated power infrastructure.

Management Commentary

E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said the contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure.

He further stated that the project draws on L&T's experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces its capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications.
