On Wednesday, at 03:30 pm, indices ended the trading session in red with the BSE Sensex Index down 0.34 per cent at 65,394 and the NSE Nifty-50 Index down 0.28 per cent at 19,384. About 1,746 shares have advanced, 1,712 declined and 143 are unchanged on BSE.  

Ashoka Metcast Ltd does trading of steel, goods and others. The stock was locked in a 20 per cent upper circuit to Rs 24.07 per share. The stock also traded at a new 52-week high of Rs 24.07 per share with a spurt in volume by more than 14.56 times on BSE.

NITCO Ltd is engaged in providing floor and wall solutions and manufactures a range of tiles, marbles, and mosaics. It has also entered into real estate development. The shares of the company zoomed 20 per cent upper circuit to Rs 21.70 per share. The shares of the company saw a spurt in volume by more than 25.69 times on BSE. The stock is up by 80 per cent in just 1 year.

Patel Engineering Ltd undertakes civil construction and engineering projects. The company participates in building dams, tunnels, etc both in India and abroad. The company's shares saw heavy buying and hit a 5 per cent upper circuit to Rs 41.46 per share. In June 2023, Vijay Kedia, a well-known and successful investor, raised his stake in the company by 0.39 per cent, leading to a cumulative ownership of 1.68 per cent. Furthermore, the stock gave multibagger returns of 150 per cent in just 6 months.
