The company, formerly known as Tata Motors Limited, reported growth across its domestic passenger vehicle business as well as international business during the month.

Domestic Passenger Vehicle Sales Rise 59 per cent
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles recorded domestic passenger vehicle sales of 65,253 units in August 2026, compared with 41,001 units in the same month last year. This represents a YoY growth of 59 per cent, making the domestic market the key contributor to the overall sales performance during the month.

The company has continued to strengthen its presence in India's passenger vehicle market through a portfolio spanning cars, SUVs and electric vehicles.

International Business Sales Grow 8 per cent
The company's international business sales stood at 2,500 units in August 2026, compared with 2,314 units in August 2025. The international business recorded a YoY growth of 8 per cent during the month.

With both domestic and international markets contributing to overall volumes, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles reported consolidated passenger vehicle sales, including electric vehicles, at 67,753 units.

Electric Vehicle Sales Nearly Double
The electric vehicle segment remained a major growth driver for Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. EV sales across domestic and international markets stood at 16,549 units in August 2026, compared with 8,540 units in August 2025.

This translates into a YoY growth of 94 per cent, highlighting strong momentum in the company's electric mobility business.

The EV numbers include sales from Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, part of the USD 180 billion Tata Group, has built a portfolio of cars and SUVs focused on design, safety and performance. The company offers multiple powertrain options along with connected technologies and electric mobility solutions. It continues to focus on zero-emission and future-ready mobility solutions supported by its engineering and research capabilities.

The company changed its name from Tata Motors Limited to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited with effect from October 13, 2025, following a Composite Scheme of Arrangement sanctioned by the National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai Bench.
