In a volatility-induced trading session, frontline equity benchmarks indices ended in the green with Nifty hitting an all-time high.
At the closing bell on February 22, the Sensex was up 535.15 points or 0.74 per cent at 73,158.24, and the Nifty was up 162.50 points or 0.74 per cent at 22,217.50.
Top Nifty gainers on a positive day were Bajaj Auto, HCL Technologies, Eicher Motors, ITC and Coal India.
In the broader markets, the BSE Mid-Cap climbed 1 per cent and the Small-Cap index added 0.5 per cent.
