On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.09 per cent, power zoomed by 0.26 per cent, and auto surged by 0.59 per cent.

Meanwhile, KEC International Ltd, Page Industries Ltd and Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

 

KEC International Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 4.46 per cent to trade at Rs 538.30 apiece, up by Rs 23. KEC International Ltd., an RPG Group company, has secured new orders worth Rs 1,754 crores across its T&D and Cables & Conductors businesses, including large tower supply orders in the Americas. The company said strong repeat orders from the USA and other markets highlight growing demand, taking its YTD order intake to over Rs 4,000 crores.

Page Industries Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 3.59 per cent to trade at Rs 41,844.65 apiece, up by Rs 1,449.85. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces. 

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 3.56 per cent to trade at Rs 252.95 apiece, up by Rs 8.70. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd. (SWREL), in a 50:50 joint venture with Hassan Allam Construction, has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) for a 1,000 MWac Solar PV project integrated with a 600 MWh battery energy storage system in Egypt. The West Minya Solar Power Project is valued at around USD 560 million and marks the company’s third GW-scale order in the last nine months.
