Hero MotoCorp Introduces Flex Fuel Motorcycles
Hero MotoCorp announced the launch of the Splendor+ Flex Fuel and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel, marking the company's entry into the Flex Fuel motorcycle segment.
The motorcycles are designed to operate on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85, aligning with India's efforts to promote alternative fuels, reduce dependence on crude oil imports and lower vehicular emissions.
The company said the Flex Fuel portfolio will be introduced in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra in July 2026, followed by a phased rollout across the country.
Hero MotoCorp Prices And Specifications
The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel has been priced at Rs 72,792 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Splendor+ Flex Fuel carries a price tag of Rs 82,710 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Both motorcycles are powered by a 97.2cc engine capable of producing 6.3 kW of power at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm when operating on E85 fuel.
The motorcycles feature upgraded fuel system components, a revised ECU, Flex Fuel compatibility from E20 to E85, tubeless tyres, a digi-analogue instrument cluster and a side-stand engine cut-off function. The Splendor+ Flex Fuel additionally comes equipped with Hero's patented i3S idle stop-start technology.
Unveiled Ahead Of World Environment Day
The motorcycles were unveiled in New Delhi ahead of World Environment Day in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.
The launch represents one of the first major introductions of Flex Fuel technology in India's mass-market commuter motorcycle category, which accounts for a significant portion of domestic two-wheeler sales.
Supporting India's Ethanol Push
The introduction of E20-E85 compatible motorcycles comes as India accelerates ethanol blending across the transportation sector. Flex Fuel vehicles can operate on varying ethanol blends, providing consumers with greater fuel flexibility while supporting the government's broader clean mobility initiatives.
Hero MotoCorp stated that the motorcycles are aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of daily commuting while supporting India's target of lowering economic carbon intensity by 45 per cent by 2030.
