Hindustan Zinc Partners With Group Nirmal For Zinc Wire Facility

Hindustan Zinc announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Group Nirmal to set up a zinc wire manufacturing facility at the company’s Zinc Industrial Park located at Khankhala in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district.

The company stated that the partnership aims to strengthen downstream manufacturing activity and support high-value industrial zinc applications across infrastructure, renewable energy, automotive and industrial engineering sectors.

Under the agreement, Group Nirmal will manufacture zinc wire products using Hindustan Zinc’s Special High Grade (SHG) zinc. The products will primarily be used in thermal spray coating and metallizing applications for anti-corrosion protection of steel structures including bridges, transmission towers, Railways, ports, pipelines and industrial installations.

The company highlighted that zinc coatings help improve structural longevity, operational reliability and reduce lifecycle maintenance requirements, making them increasingly preferred solutions for long-term infrastructure protection.

Management Commentary

Arun Misra, Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Zinc, said, “This partnership with Group Nirmal marks another important milestone in developing a robust downstream ecosystem around zinc-based manufacturing in India. Through the Zinc Industrial Park, we are enabling industries that support infrastructure durability, import substitution and value-added manufacturing while creating long-term economic opportunities for the region.”

Zinc Industrial Park Expansion

The Zinc Industrial Park was first announced during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit held in December 2024 in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal. Hindustan Zinc stated that the industrial park continues to progress through phased investor partnerships and strategic collaborations.

The company added that it remains focused on building a manufacturing ecosystem anchored on sustainability, circular economy principles and renewable energy adoption.
