Multiyear Breakout Stock: BEES Stock on Verge of 8-Year Breakout; Company Approves Major Expansion in Battery Anode Materials
The company has now approved a significant expansion in battery anode materials, taking its planned capacity from 20,000 tonnes to 44,000 tonnes a year, alongside new investments in crucibles and graphene. The expanded anode-materials programme involves capital expenditure of Rs 1,606 crore

Indian equity markets were trading in positive territory at around 2 PM on November 4, with the Nifty 50 hovering near the 23,400 mark and the Sensex trading above 77,000. Meanwhile, India VIX declined below 15.5, indicating an easing in market volatility. Amid the broader market gains, one stock attracting attention is HEG Advanced Materials, which is witnessing buying interest and approaching a potential breakout from a nearly eight-year trading range. A sustained move above this range would mark a multi-year technical breakout.
HEG Advanced Materials Ltd., part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, operates in advanced battery materials, battery energy solutions and green power. The company is developing a large-scale anode materials business while also working on next-generation materials, including silicon-based anodes. Its operations cover research and development, manufacturing and commercialisation of battery materials used in electric vehicles (EVs), battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other energy storage applications.
HEG Advanced Materials is reshaping itself as an advanced-materials, energy-storage and green-power platform following the separation of its graphite-electrode business. The first 20,000-tonne facility is being developed for commercial operations by June 2027 and was 61 per cent complete at the end of September. A second 24,000-tonne phase at Dewas is targeted for commissioning by March 2029, using existing land, power connectivity and infrastructure.
The company has also approved a Rs 475 crore crucible project, intended to provide backward integration and cost optimisation for the anode-materials operation. A 500-tonne-a-year graphene project, involving Rs 500 crore of capital expenditure, has also been cleared. Together, the three approvals represent planned investment of Rs 2,581 crore, against consolidated cash and Bank balances of Rs 1,322.84 crore as of September 30, 2026.
For the September quarter, consolidated revenue from continuing operations was Rs 429.94 crore, while total income was Rs 546.59 crore. Earnings before interest, Tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at Rs 312.78 crore and profit after tax (PAT) was Rs 208.89 crore. In the first half of FY27, the company reported Rs 725.80 crore of continuing-operations revenue, EBITDA of Rs 438 crore and PAT of Rs 269.07 crore.
The figures are not comparable with earlier periods because the corporate restructuring became effective on September 1, 2026. Under the scheme, the graphite-electrode business moved to HEG Limited, formerly HEG Graphite Limited, while Bhilwara Energy Limited was amalgamated into HEG Advanced Materials. The company’s debt-free hydro and wind assets have a combined installed capacity of 292 MW and generate annual stable cash flows exceeding Rs 300 crore, according to management.
As of 12:54 pm on November 4, 2026, HEG Advanced Materials shares were trading at Rs 271.40. The stock was up 12.73 per cent from the previous close, although it remained about 63 per cent below its 52-week high of Rs 739.30. The company had a market capitalisation of Rs 7,939.91 crore at the time. The sharp gap from the yearly peak reflects that investors are likely to remain focused on execution, capital deployment and the commercial ramp-up of the new businesses.
What This Means for Investors
The approvals strengthen HEG Advanced Materials’ effort to build revenue streams beyond graphite electrodes. The planned 44,000-tonne anode-material capacity creates a larger addressable platform in lithium-ion battery supply chains, while the crucible project could improve cost control through backward integration. Graphene adds a smaller but technology-led option, supported by the company’s research and development pipeline in silicon-doped and graphene-based anodes.
The development is strategically supportive, but its financial contribution remains several years away. Phase I is due in June 2027 and the larger second phase is targeted only by March 2029. The Rs 2,581 crore project pipeline is substantial relative to the group’s cash balance, making funding discipline, project execution and customer development central to the investment case. Stable green-power cash flows provide a financial base, but commercial utilisation and margins at the new facilities will determine whether the investment converts into durable earnings growth.
