AstraZeneca Pharma India reported revenue from operations of Rs 682.79 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 526.31 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering a growth of approximately 30 per cent. Profit before exceptional items and tax stood at Rs 50.99 crore, compared with Rs 75.06 crore in Q1 FY26.

Therapy Areas Report Strong Growth
The company's Oncology business generated revenue of Rs 464.9 crore, registering 26 per cent growth compared with Q1 FY26. Biopharmaceuticals, covering CVRM, R&I and V&I, reported revenue of Rs 161.9 crore, up 36 per cent YoY. Meanwhile, the Rare Diseases segment recorded revenue of Rs 14.4 crore, representing a significant increase compared with the year-ago period.
Key Regulatory Approvals
During the quarter, AstraZeneca Pharma India received regulatory approval for acalabrutinib in combination with venetoclax, with or without obinutuzumab, for previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma. The company also received approval for acalabrutinib in combination with bendamustine and rituximab for certain previously untreated mantle cell lymphoma patients.
The company also received regulatory approval for trastuzumab deruxtecan in combination with pertuzumab for first-line treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer.

Strategic Initiatives
AstraZeneca Pharma India signed an MoU with the Government of Telangana to introduce AI-enabled lung cancer screening across public healthcare facilities. The initiative is expected to cover 20 public health facilities across urban and rural areas and includes training and upskilling of healthcare professionals.
The company also launched K+ Connect, a pan-India initiative focused on hyperkalaemia management among patients with heart failure and chronic kidney disease. In addition, it launched India Coronary Conquest 2026 in collaboration with STEMI India to support capability building in advanced cardiovascular care.

Bhavana Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer and Director of AstraZeneca Pharma India, said the company delivered 30 per cent growth in the first quarter, taking revenue to Rs 682.8 crore. She highlighted the company's track record of consistent double-digit growth over the last five years and said the focus remains on strategic investments supporting sustainable long-term value creation.
Praveen Rao Akkinepally, Country President and Managing Director, said the first-quarter performance reflected the strength of the company's portfolio and its focus on expanding access to medicines in India.
