FIIs Holding Over 40%: AI Stock Reports First-Ever USD 100 Million Revenue Quarter, Net Income More Than Doubles; Shares Rally Over 12%

Fractal Analytics crossed USD 100 million in quarterly revenue in Q2 FY27, supported by strong Healthcare and Life Sciences and BFSI growth, alongside improved margins and higher client spending.

✨ Key Takeaways

Fractal Analytics is seeking to shift enterprise customers from isolated artificial intelligence pilots towards larger transformation, data-foundation and workflow programmes through its Cogentiq agentic AI platform. The strategy gained momentum in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, when the company reported its first USD 100 million revenue quarter.

Consolidated operating revenue rose 20 per cent YoY to Rs 956.5 crore in Q2 FY27. Growth in constant-currency terms was 10 per cent. Net income more than doubled, rising 139 per cent YoY to Rs 79.2 crore, while adjusted earnings before interest, Tax, depreciation and amortisation, or adjusted EBITDA, increased 71 per cent.

The adjusted EBITDA margin expanded by 123 basis points YoY to 16 per cent, indicating that revenue growth was accompanied by improved operating leverage. The company said margins improved at all levels during the quarter.

Healthcare and Life Sciences was the strongest industry vertical, with revenue rising 79 per cent YoY. Banking, Financial Services and Insurance, or BFSI, revenue increased 30 per cent YoY. Consumer Packaged Goods and Retail, Fractal’s largest vertical, grew 11 per cent YoY, while Technology, Media and Telecom recorded a 6 per cent QoQ increase, signalling a sequential recovery after recent weakness in the segment.

Products, including Cogentiq, reached an annual revenue run-rate of more than Rs 150 crore, up 39 per cent YoY. Client expansion remained healthy, with net revenue retention in the Fractal.ai business at 115 per cent. This measure captures revenue retained and expanded from clients that were already active at the beginning of the period.

Chief Executive Officer Srikanth Velamakanni said enterprises were approaching a point where leaving major decisions unchanged despite advances in AI could become risky. His comments underline Fractal’s expectation that faster, cheaper AI models will increase demand for production-scale deployment. The key test will be whether the company can sustain growth across verticals while converting platform and product investments into durable revenue.

As of 10:05 am on November 4, 2026, Fractal Analytics shares were trading at Rs 823.05. The stock was up 12.35 per cent from the previous close, although the move cannot be attributed solely to the quarterly result. At this price, the share was about 25.3 per cent below its 52-week high of Rs 1,101.40 and above its 52-week low of Rs 699.

As of quarter ended September, 2026, FII's hold over 40 per cent stake in the company and DII's holding has increased from 12.26 per cent to 13.29 per cent.

What This Means for Investors

The Q2 performance supports Fractal’s case that enterprise AI spending is broadening beyond experimentation. Strong Healthcare and Life Sciences and BFSI growth reduced Reliance on the recovering Technology, Media and Telecom vertical. More importantly, the combination of 20 per cent revenue growth, a 16 per cent adjusted EBITDA margin and 115 per cent net revenue retention suggests that existing clients are increasing their AI programmes. Product run-rate growth also strengthens the potential for a larger platform-led revenue contribution over time.

The result is supportive for the investment case, but execution remains central. Fractal must sustain the recovery in Technology, Media and Telecom, commercialise Cogentiq at scale and manage rising research and development commitments without diluting profitability. At 43.65 times trailing 12-month price-to-earnings and 20.79 times enterprise value to trailing EBITDA, the valuation continues to place weight on consistent growth and margin delivery. Future quarters will need to show that the current profitability improvement is repeatable as the company invests for expansion.
