ICICI Bank Q1 FY27 Results: Net Profit Rises 16% YoY to Rs 14,805 Crore; Asset Quality Improves

Despite the weak broader market sentiment, ICICI Bank share price gained 1.08 per cent to Rs 1,459.90 after the private sector lender reported a healthy set of standalone earnings for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), supported by steady loan growth, higher deposits and improved asset quality.
ICICI Bank Q1 FY27 Financial Performance
ICICI Bank reported a standalone net profit of Rs 14,804.50 crore for Q1 FY27, registering a 15.95 per cent year-on-year growth from Rs 12,768.21 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The bank's total income increased 5.43 per cent YoY to Rs 54,246.84 crore from Rs 51,451.81 crore, while operating profit before provisions and contingencies rose 8.75 per cent to Rs 20,386.07 crore compared with Rs 18,745.84 crore in Q1 FY26.
During the quarter, provisions and contingencies stood at Rs 1,260.45 crore, while the bank reported profit before tax of Rs 19,125.62 crore, up from Rs 16,931.27 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Earnings per share (basic) increased to Rs 20.65 from Rs 17.91.

ICICI Bank Business Growth
ICICI Bank continued to report healthy business growth during the quarter. Total period-end deposits increased 14.0 per cent YoY to Rs 18,33,586 crore, while advances grew 19.6 per cent YoY to Rs 16,31,260 crore as of June 30, 2026. The bank's total assets stood at Rs 24,32,426 crore at the end of the quarter.
Asset Quality Improves
ICICI Bank's asset quality improved further during the quarter. The gross NPA ratio declined to 1.38 per cent as of June 30, 2026, from 1.67 per cent a year ago, while the net NPA ratio eased to 0.35 per cent from 0.41 per cent.
Gross non-performing customer assets stood at Rs 23,846.59 crore, while net non-performing customer assets were Rs 5,908.27 crore. The bank's capital adequacy ratio (Basel III) remained strong at 16.84 per cent.
Other Key Developments
During the quarter, ICICI Bank added 97 branches, taking its network to 7,608 branches and 12,190 ATMs and cash recycling machines as of June 30, 2026.
Separately, the Board approved the appointment of Mrugank Paranjape as an Additional (Independent) Director for a five-year term, subject to shareholders' approval. The Board also approved a revised overseas borrowing limit of up to USD 2.50 billion through the issuance of bonds, notes or offshore certificates of deposit.
