JSW Energy informed exchanges that the company divested 2.5 crore equity shares of JSW Steel through a bulk deal on the National Stock Exchange on May 18, 2026. According to the filing, the transaction was part of a strategic liquidity release initiative and resulted in gross proceeds of around Rs 3,150 crore.
The company stated that monetisation of a part of its holding in JSW Steel would help release capital for pursuing growth strategy while improving return on capital employed and reinforcing disciplined capital allocation.
JSW Energy Shareholding Pattern
According to the March 2026 shareholding pattern, promoters held 69.41 per cent stake in JSW Energy compared to 69.26 per cent reported in December 2025. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) increased their holding to 9.74 per cent from 9.50 per cent in the previous quarter, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) reduced their stake slightly to 14.29 per cent from 14.39 per cent.
Public shareholding declined to 6.44 per cent in March 2026 compared to 6.74 per cent reported in December 2025. The total number of shareholders stood at 5,65,674.
