✨ AI Powered Summary
India’s renewable energy journey is entering a decisive phase, and companies are beginning to push beyond industry expectations. Among them, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) is positioning itself as one of the most ambitious players in the sector. While India’s renewable energy industry is projected to grow at a steady rate of around 10 per cent annually over the next five years, AGEL is aiming much higher. The company is targeting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 29 per cent between December 2025 and 2029-30. This is almost three times the expected industry pace. This bold target reflects not only confidence but also a clear strategy focused on scale and speed.
This ambition is already taking shape on the ground. On March 29, 2026, AGEL made a late-evening decision to commercially operationalise a new set of renewable energy projects. From March 30, 2026, these plants began generating power, marking another important milestone in the company’s expansion journey.
The newly commissioned projects add a combined capacity of 951 MW across two key locations - Baiya in Rajasthan and Khavda in Gujarat.
The projects have been developed through several special purpose vehicles (SPVs), each contributing to the overall capacity. These include Solar power units such as Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Five Limited (50 MW), Adani Green Energy Twenty Four Limited (100 MW), Adani Green Energy Twenty Five C Limited (225 MW), and Adani Green Energy Twenty Six A Limited (300 MW). In addition, Adani Solar Energy Barmer One Limited has added 251 MW of solar capacity, while Adani Solar Energy Jodhpur Six Limited has contributed a smaller hybrid project of 25 MW.
With the commissioning of these plants, AGEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity has now reached 18,933.3 MW.
Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) is India’s largest renewable energy company. It develops and operates solar, wind, and hybrid power projects across the country. AGEL’s renewable portfolio spans 12 resource-rich states, combining utility-scale solar and wind farms with hybrid projects to deliver reliable, clean energy at scale.
