Rs 10,166 Crore Order Book: Navratna PSU Secures Rs 15,77,99,597 Defence Order From Munitions India

Indian equity benchmarks traded higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index rising 76.25 points, or 0.32 per cent, to 23,930.15. Amid the positive market sentiment, RailTel Corporation of India share price were trading at Rs 322.65, up 1.22 per cent, after the company announced a new defence-related order from Munitions India Ltd.

RailTel Secures Rs 15.78 Crore Defence Order

RailTel Corporation informed stock exchanges that it has received a domestic work order worth Rs 15.78 crore, including taxes, from Munitions India Limited. The contract involves upgrading the MPLS bandwidth of the existing COMNET 2.0 network deployed across various defence establishments.

The total order value stands at Rs 15,77,99,597, and the project is scheduled to be completed by June 14, 2027. The company received the work order on June 15, 2026.

Project Covers 45 Defence Units

Under the contract, RailTel will enhance the bandwidth capacity of the COMNET 2.0 communications infrastructure operating across 45 units belonging to seven Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and the Directorate of Ordnance (DoO), New Delhi.

The project is aimed at strengthening connectivity and improving communication capabilities across critical defence establishments. The order further reinforces RailTel's growing presence in the defence communications and digital infrastructure segment.

Strengthens RailTel's Defence Portfolio

The latest contract adds to RailTel's expanding portfolio of government and defence-sector projects. With an execution timeline extending through mid-2027, the order provides revenue visibility while highlighting the company's capabilities in delivering secure and large-scale communication network solutions.

RailTel clarified that neither its promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding entity, and the transaction does not fall under related-party transactions.
