Rs 24,984 Crore Order Book: Railway PSU Secures Rs 198.41 Crore Share In Rs 763.10 Crore Tripura Smart Grid Project

The benchmark equity indices, Nifty50 and Sensex, witnessed sharp declines on Tuesday amid broad-based selling pressure. The Nifty50 fell 1.16 per cent to 23,824.10, dragged down by weakness across sectors. Amid the broader market weakness, IRCON International's share price traded at Rs 136.45, down 1.93 per cent from the previous close.

IRCON Bags Smart Grid Project In Tripura

IRCON International informed the exchanges that it has secured a domestic works contract from Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) for the execution of the Agartala Smart Grid Project under Package-A in the Agartala Municipality Area.

The project has been awarded to a joint venture comprising IRCON International and Badri Rai & Company (BRC). The total contract value stands at Rs 763.10 crore, including GST.

IRCON's Share At Rs 198.41 Crore

Under the joint venture arrangement, Badri Rai & Company is the lead partner with a 74 per cent stake, while IRCON holds a 26 per cent share.

Accordingly, out of the total project value of Rs 763.10 crore, IRCON's share amounts to approximately Rs 198.41 crore, while BRC's share stands at around Rs 564.70 crore.

IRCON International Scope Of Work

The project involves the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an underground power cable network covering both high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) distribution systems.

The scope also includes the implementation of advanced Smart Grid technologies such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Outage Management System (OMS), GIS mapping and integration, and underground optical fibre cable (OFC) communication systems.

Additionally, the project covers integration with Billing, ERP and Customer Information Systems (CIS), establishment of primary and backup Smart Grid Control Centres, Distribution Network Automation (DNA), and long-term operations and maintenance services.

Project Execution Timeline

The company stated that the project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months. IRCON also clarified that the contract is not a related-party transaction and that neither the promoter nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority.
