Following the transaction, OnoMagic now owns 100 per cent of The Perspective. The company said the acquisition is an important step in OnoMagic's strategy of developing and scaling differentiated digital media properties and provides the platform with a stronger foundation for its next phase of growth.

According to the company filing, The Perspective has received international recognition for its approach to digital publishing. The platform received the 2017 EPPY Award for Best Innovation Project, a 2018 Webby Award nomination in News and Politics, and the 2022 Independent Press Award in Current Affairs.

The company said the transaction also provides an opportunity to leverage the broader Brightcom Group ecosystem, particularly in digital advertising, technology, audience engagement and data-driven monetisation.

The acquisition is consistent with Brightcom Group's broader strategy of building and developing digital businesses at the intersection of content, technology and digital advertising. The company said the strategy is aimed at creating opportunities for sustainable growth across its portfolio of businesses. Further, company has a market capitalisation of Rs 1,947 crore, while its stock PE stands at 2.02 and ROCE is 14.9 per cent.
