Highest-Ever First-Quarter Mined Metal Production

Hindustan Zinc reported its highest-ever first-quarter mined metal production for the fifth consecutive year, with output rising to 268 kt in Q1 FY27, compared with 265 kt in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a 1 per cent year-on-year growth. On a sequential basis, mined metal production declined 15 per cent from 315 kt in Q4 FY26.

The company attributed the record first-quarter production primarily to better ore grades.

Refined Metal Production

Refined metal production stood at 260 kt during the quarter, up 4 per cent YoY from 250 kt, while declining 8 per cent sequentially from 282 kt.

Refined zinc production increased 6 per cent YoY to 213 kt, supported by capacity unlocked through debottlenecking initiatives at Chanderiya and Dariba, along with the 160 ktpa roaster at Debari. Refined lead production stood at 47 kt, down 2 per cent YoY and 14 per cent QoQ, partly due to planned maintenance activities.
