Fredun Pharmaceuticals has been using its generic formulations business and growing branded portfolio to build consumer-facing healthcare verticals, including nutrition, personal care and pet healthcare. The company has now reported a sharp rise in standalone earnings for the first half of FY27 while accelerating investments in veterinary retail and pet wellness.
Standalone total income for the first half of FY27 rose 87.02 per cent YoY to Rs 495.88 crore from Rs 265.15 crore. Earnings before interest, Tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 91.67 per cent to Rs 75.38 crore, while net profit grew 93.92 per cent to Rs 31.99 crore.

In the September quarter, total income rose 84.21 per cent YoY to Rs 267.64 crore and net profit increased 93.44 per cent to Rs 18.83 crore. Quarterly EBITDA margin improved to 15.92 per cent from 15.37 per cent a year earlier.
The company attributed the growth to its established formulations operations as well as newer businesses in pet care, mobility, nutrition and dermaceuticals. Its branded generic portfolio, Fredun GX, is now present in 19 states, according to management. Fredun’s wider pharmaceutical network includes distributors across 52 countries and more than 813 product registrations globally.
Pet care was a notable strategic focus during the period. In September 2026, Fredun acquired a 26 per cent stake in Goodman Vetcare at a Rs 300 crore valuation. Goodman Vetcare plans to add more than eight stores and targets Rs 100 crore in revenue by FY31. Fredun also acquired Furlicks from USV and Wellbeing Nutrition, entering the pet-wellness category with oral strips for areas including skin, gut health, joint care and calming.
Fredun plans to launch 16 Furlicks products over the next six to nine months, taking the brand’s range to 22 stock keeping units from six. The company also launched PAWTALKS, a pet-health knowledge platform, as it seeks to link products, diagnostics, retail and digital engagement through its broader pet-care ecosystem.
