Stepping ahead in the populous sedan category, Tata Motors has successfully introduced Tata Tigor, recently. It is the Company's third outcome in the tax-effective sub-four-metre sedan category.

It can be noticed that, Tigor has entered the market with an aggressive pricing strategy i.e. Rs 4.7 lakh for base petrol variant, and it can be a competitor to even Tata’s existing models.

Hence, it is now a budget-friendly car, available in the entire sedan segment in the country, which can be the biggest selling point for it. However, Swift Dzire is the largest-selling car in the segment which starts at Rs 5.27 lakh; whereas, the base petrol model of Indigo CS comes at Rs 5.03 lakh.

Besides Indigo CS, Tata sells its Zest model as well, in the market, but this version has been unable to overtake the dominance of Maruti Suzuki’s Swift Dzire in this segment.

The compact sedan and hatchback category have conceded over 40 per cent sales in January 2017, at over 114,000 units.

The stock of Tata Motors is hovering at Rs 466.55, down by 0.55 per cent in Thursday’s trading session.
