ONGC Awards Major Offshore EPCIC Batch Covering Pipelines, Four Platforms

Larsen & Toubro has secured a batch of offshore orders classified as ‘Major’ from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, adding projects involving subsea pipelines and well head platforms to its hydrocarbon portfolio. Under L&T’s order classification system, a Major order has a value ranging from Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore. The company did not disclose a precise contract value within that band. The contracts were awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, or LTEH Offshore, for ONGC’s Pipeline Replacement Project, known as PRP-X, and the Well Head Platforms Project. Both assignments cover offshore fields located off India’s western coastline and will be delivered under an engineering, procurement, Construction, installation and commissioning model. For PRP-X, LTEH Offshore will undertake the EPCIC of multiple subsea pipeline segments. The assignment also includes associated modification works across ONGC’s offshore fields, combining new pipeline installation with changes to existing infrastructure. The second contract calls for the EPCIC delivery of four well head platforms. These facilities form the other major component of the order batch and broaden the range of offshore construction work covered by the mandate. The awards add to L&T’s ongoing portfolio of EPCIC assignments in the energy sector and strengthen its presence in India’s offshore hydrocarbon infrastructure segment. LTEH Offshore functions as an integrated offshore oil and gas EPCIC solutions provider, supported by internal engineering capabilities, fabrication facilities and a dedicated marine vessel fleet. Those resources allow the business to execute shallow-water and deep-water developments across global markets. During the past four decades, LTEH Offshore has delivered fixed platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and decommissioning assignments. That operating record spans both new offshore developments and work involving the modification or retirement of existing assets.
